The 4th Saturday in September each year, Winfield hosts an event that has been termed "One of the top 20 events in the Southeast" by Travel and Tourism magazine. Celebrating its 25th year anniversary, Mule Day has grown into a major event not only for the City of Winfield but also for the State of Alabama. Drawing crowds of over 25,000 each year, Mule Day features a variety of activities that appeal to any palate.

Even though the 4th Saturday in September has been designated Mule Day, the festivities begin on Friday evening with Music and Dancing for all ages. But if your interests lie elsewhere, plenty of rest will prepare you for Saturday morning at the 7:30 a.m. Northwest Medical Center 1-Mile Run {pre-registration required}.

Besides the many varieties of food and music, there is a montage of events that will entertain you and your family regardless of age. Be prepared to spend the day and enjoy:

A Civil War reenactment, “Skirmish at Luxapalila” is also presented at the lovely Ivan K. Hill Park, with battles on Saturday and Sunday, and a period ball Saturday evening at the Winfield Community Center.

Make plans for you, your family, and friends to join us this year for the many exciting and interesting events being planned by the Winfield Chamber of Commerce, Winfield, Alabama.
