The Winfield fire Department is staffed with a Chief, four {4} full-time firefighters, and 25 volunteer firefighters. It is the mission of the Winfield Fire Department to provide response to emergency situations involving fires, injuries, illness, hazardous materials accidents, and water rescue incidents. the department also provides non-emergency services to the public through pre-fire planning and public education and awareness.

Fire Chief Keith Waldrop is devoted to creating for the citizens of Winfield a fire department that will continue to assist them and others in the coverage area. Therefore, continuing education and training is a crucial part of this department. Specialized classes are offered at the Alabama State Fire College in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Chief Waldrop feels the fire department should continue to make strides to ensure equipment, training, and whatever is necessary to provide the best service available to the public.
